Privacy
Short version: the check runs in your browser, we ask for contact details last, and nobody sees your job until you say so.
What we collect
While you do the check
Your answers stay in your own browser until you ask us to save them. We record anonymous usage events, such as which step people stop at, with no personal detail attached.
When you ask for a scope of works
Your name and email, your mobile and business name if you give them, and your answers. We take no payments and ask for no card details anywhere on this site.
If you list as a builder
Your business details, the work you show us, your ABN if you have one, and your quoting history on the platform.
Analytics
Google Analytics, for page views and step completion. We do not send it the text of your job.
Who sees your job
- Nobody, until your scope of works is written and you tell us to send it out.
- Once the builder bench opens, builders matched to the job see it with your name, business name and contact details removed, so they can decide whether to quote.
- An invited builder receives the full scope of works by email, still without your contact details.
- Your contact details are released only when you choose a builder to talk to.
What we never do
- Sell your contact details, to builders or anyone else.
- Train AI models on your business information.
- Publish anything that identifies you. Market data we publish has names, locations and identifying detail stripped out.
- Ask for passwords, bank details or access to your systems. Nobody from AI Builds will ever request them.
Keeping and deleting
Unfinished checks are cleared from your browser when you close it. Once we start charging, paid scopes and their transaction records are kept for seven years, because tax law requires it. Everything else is deleted on request. Email us and we will confirm when it is done.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and complain if you are unhappy with how we handled it. Contact us first and we will try to sort it out. If that fails, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes complaints at oaic.gov.au.
Where your information sits
Form submissions are delivered by FormSubmit, which processes them in the United States, then stored in our inbox in Australia. Fonts load from Google. Analytics runs through Google, which processes some data overseas. There is no payment processor connected to this site.
